Here’s the answer to the mystery,
The thoughts behind my eyes.
I jot this down in honesty,
The truth without the lies.
I loved you as a friend should do,
And then a little more.
I couldn’t say the words outright,
But displayed a little door.
My secret could not stay as such,
You guessed it late one night,
Submissed to you, I did confess
Your notion was dead right.
Enthralled, entranced you were by me,
I held power over you.
One glance and you were mine again,
Held captive to the Shrew.
To gain your heart I used my eyes,
I peered into your soul.
Not everything I liked down there,
This knowledge took its toll.
Stare into my eyes once more,
You’ll see me reminisce,
As I gaze into the distant past
For the boy who I do miss.
I wished our time would never end,
But now I know it must.
My love for you has gone away,
In one big billowy gust.
