Healing

I wrote this a while ago... it's kinda..... mmm... dramatic? I guess that's a good word for it. Idk. Slash my views have changed since I wrote this so yeah. Here it is:

Your only compliment was “wow”,

Well take a look at me now.

With tear stained face and out stretch arm,

You could do my heart no greater harm

Than what you did a year gone past;

I would have thought our love could last.

In my bed we laid to rest,

My head upon your beating chest.

I see your strength, I love your heart,

You had me from the very start.

With butterflies and cheeks ablush,

Your presence gave my heart a rush.

My heart was broke, my hope gone dark,

And only you could revive the spark.

But another chance you wouldn’t give

To the one you loved, my soul to live.

I crawled around in black despair,

With gaping lungs that longed for air.

With time, my love did not diminish,

But our friendship was due to finish.

A stranger now you were to me,

Your heart from mine, it was set free.

From time to time our eyes did meet,

I know in mine you saw defeat.

My broken heart began to heal,

The splintered pieces I began to steal

Away from you, but do you know

How far I’ve yet to go?

I’ve gone a mile, but there’s ten more

For healing heart, for mine that tore.

Don’t look at me with face so dear,

I won’t let escape another tear,

I’ve cried so much, felt too much pain;

I wonder why I’m not insane.

I guard my love from your sweet heart,

If let unloose I’d fall apart.

But if shown welcome arms and a smile for me,

I’d come running back to you.
